Whacked

Due to life changes, I haven't been here since '16
Actually haven't used my CA Togiak tube or my CC Sport pontoon since then.
Anyways, times-a-changing so I pulled them out of storage to air up and give a good go-over. Lots going on but hopefully get them in the water in the next couple weekends.

My question is stringers.
I used to have a float tube friendly plastic stringer. Google-fu doesn't show anything like that. All I have are the metal ones. I've been bank fishing, occasional boat rental fishing in my 7-8 year hiatus. Couple of my favorite Summer fishing lakes is no body contact or no boats period...

Am I being to paranoid in thinking the metal ones may puncture?
What do you use?

No it should not be a big issue just be careful and keep the links closed if they are the big metal clip types just for safety reasons.

I use the hoop / kayak style.   No sharp edges and clips on to d-rings on both my tubes.  [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I also don't think it's a problem but I did see someone using this a few weeks ago. It's a nylon stringer.. It looked pretty slick and I'll be ordering one soon. Runs about $15 plus shipping.

That is what I used way back when.
Can't find it now.

I wasn't that impressed with the locking mech, you need to make sure its secure every time.

Then again, I've had fish twist themselves off metal stringers
