Well after nearly two months of not taking my float tube out, I finally was back in it this morning! (I’m still shore-pounding twice a week at night). Met up with my buddy this morning at the Coast Guard Beach in Newport as well as some other of the California Harbor Fishing crew. We launched at 6:00am and got out of the water at 9:30am.
Total fish for me: 8. 7 Spotties, 1 Calico.
Highlights included my first ever double-up today using a “donkey rig”. (Two hook-up baits tied to a three way swivel). Also landed a 17” Spottie as my last catch of the day. (Mouth was hanging off the left of my tray by about a 1/2”.
