I could not find many reports from the Stockton area, so I decided to write a report for a trip I took this summer. I visit my folks in the Stockton area every year and I love the fishing up in the Delta. They have some nice Stripers come out of the region every season.
I was very inexperienced with tube fishing at the time, but I decided to try it anyway. I found a real nice spot called the Modesto Resevior. It's huge!
I drove to the tent camping side of the lake and found a shaded tree to park under. I also like the fact that there were some trees halfway in and out of the shoreline approx 50 yards to my right. Not too far of a kick.
I launched at about 6:30 am just after sun up, but like I said I didn't know too much about tubing or fishing for that matter. I was more familiar with a trout set up so I threw white and orange Berkeley mouse tails. Not the right time of year for this. Even with all the odds against me I was able to land this LMB.

Only got one bass, but also landed 4 cats from shore.
I can't wait to get back there.
Pros:
1. Friendly staff
2. Huge lake lots of places to explore
3. Parking right next to the water
4. Heavy trout stalking (in season)
5. Visible schools of baitfish as well as frog tadpoles
Cons:
1. Few shaded areas
2. Limited water structures
3. Lots of water skiers in the summer months
4. Half of the lake is surrounded by private property, if the current land u on that side, there is no way of walking back to your car and it can be a long difficult kick back!!!
