I am aware that a good number of you fish the southern harbors a great deal. But I have yet to read about Redondo Harbor. What's up?

As a kid I would fish there with the family from our boat in the Harbor. Back then there was a bait bardge in the Harbor. I don't know if you can tube it but I think we should look into it. The fishing was great as a kid years ago, maybe it is still the same.

I never fished the harbor, but I would free dive their all the time since they have a nice deep drop off that goes from 20' to 80' about 200 yards out from shore. I would see hali's all the time little ones, but I did see them.

If you go want to plan a trip I would love to go and my bro owns the bar on the pier so we would have a great spot to chill at after fishing.

They only place I can see that might be a launch spot is the King Harbor Yatch club. There looks to be a small rocky beach right along side the jetty.

You really don't need a "launch" point. The reason why it was soo good for free dive training is because it gets little to no swell at all. I would kick out a little past the pier with just a small little dive tube to carry a small anchor and pull line on.

Ooo, this all sounds good. Sounds like an exploratory trip!

I have not been to Redondo for a very long time. My friends and I used to fish for Bonito on the fly out of the rental skiffs. Over the years we developed a really effective technique for catching the little buggers. I will do a little intelligence work and find out what I can but I would love to fish it again. I can only hope that the fishing there is still like I remember it! To be continued....!
